Russell Freedman

Russell Freedman is one of America’s most honored writers of factual books for children. In 1998, he received the Laura Ingalls Wilder Medal for his lifelong contribution to children’s literature, a contribution that includes the Newbery Medal Winner Lincoln: A Photobiography, and biographies of the Wright Brothers and Eleanor Roosevelt, both of which received Newbery Honors. Confucius was his first Asian subject and his longest journey back in history. He is currently working on a biography of Marco Polo for Arthur A. Levine Books.
