NY Times Best Illustrated! This year, not one but TWO Arthur A. Levine Books titles were named to the New York Times list of Best Illustrated Children's Books! Kirkus Best Books! Two AALB titles from 2009 were named to the Kirkus Reviews list of the Best Children's Books of 2009: Blue Mountain Trouble by Martin Mordecai, and The Snow Day by Komako Sakai! Congratulations, Martin and Komako!



More Kirkus Best Books! Kirkus Reviews has revealed its list of Best Young Adult Books of 2009, and two AALB titles on are the list! Congratulations to Francisco Stork for Marcelo in the Real World, and to Shaun Tan for Tales from Outer Suburbia!!



AAL books are Smithsonian Notables! Three AALB titles from 2009 were named Smithsonian Notable Books: Peaceful Heroes, by Jonah Winter, illustrated by Sean Addy; The Snow Day, by Komako Sakai; and Marcelo in the Real World, by Francisco X.
