Allen Say

Allen Say is the author and illustrator of numerous award-winning picture books, including Grandfather's Journey, winner of the Caldecott Medal, and The Boy of the Three-Year Nap (written by Dianne Snyder), which both won a Caldecott Honor and the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award. Many of Allen's stories are derived from his own experiences as a child, including his most recent book from Scholastic Press, Drawing from Memory. Called a "transporting hybrid of picture book and graphic memoir" by the New York Times Book Review, the book was also described as "aesthetically superb" and "a fresh new wonder" in a starred review from Kirkus.
