Jonah Winter

Jonah Winter's first picture book was Diego, the story of Mexican muralist Diego Rivera. Illustrated by his mother, Jeanette Winter, it was named one of the hundred best American children's books of the twentieth century by the Ruminator Review. He has since written many picture book biographies, with subjects including Dizzy Gillespie, Frida Kahlo, and Gilbert & Sullivan, among many others. A poet and a painter as well as a children's book author, Jonah lives in Pittsburgh, PA.
